Bakmi Capcay Pak Bambang : Hidden Heaven in the back region of UNS



Tasty, Simple, and Inexpensive, but hidden is an accurate word to describe this simple restaurant.  Bakmi Capcay Pak Bambang located at Gang Sejahtera 5 RT02 RW XIX, Jebres, Surakarta became one of main culinary destination.
Mr. Bambang started this business in May 2012, he first started as a street vendor but then moved his business to his house in 2015. Even when cooking as a street vendor, he kept developing and improving the quality of his products even today.


Costumers will be presented with local foods like Fried Noodles, Fried Rice, Capcay, and the more contemporary food like Mawut Fried Rice which is a dish that adds noodles to fried rice and it’s alternative version, Magelangan, which add rice to Fried Noodles, the seasonings are different between one food to another. Customers can aslo order the more experimental menu like Nasdog Capcay, which cooks rice with Capcay, different from just adding cooked Capcay into the rice or vice versa. Even though in the 21st century people uses gas to cook, Mr. Bambang still preserving the use of charcoal to cook. The use of charcoal to cook itself adds to the aroma of the food.
Because Mr. Bambang made his own house as a diner, eating there adds just the right amount of homelike atmosphere, improving the food taste much more homemade.
The price for each food also really inexpensive, ranging only at 8000 IDR -  9000 IDR per meal or equal to  0.50 USD - 0.60 USD which is really cheap, and if you want a bigger size, you can add 1000 IDR or equal to 0.06 USD.
“I may add some menu that will involve barberqueing, or maybe penyetan,” said Mr. Bambang when asked whether he will add another food to the menu or not “Back when I was still a street vendor many customers seem to enjoy tempe penyet”. Mr. Bambang also added Nasdog Capcay because one of his best selling foods is Capcay.
Although Capcay sold many, other things in the menu are also popular, “I came here often because I like the Fried Rice” said Adestito (19) on the other account, Fernando (20) said that he came here for the magelangan.
Truly, Bakmi Capcay Pak Bambang is one diner worth to visit to know how it captivates its customer’s heart, maybe it will captivate yours too.
